1967 Charles de Gaulles FRANCE "10 Franc" NOTE Pictures VOLTAIRE & THE TUILERIES
    Description
    This is a circulated
    "Dix"
or 10 Francs note from France. It is dated September 7, 1967 during the time of President Charles de Gaulle.
Both President Franklin Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill detested Charles de Gaulle during World War II. Proud, stiff-necked, and demanding, they found him more than difficult to work with. They both found ways to do so however and France was wrested back from the Germans and the war was won.
    The note pictures
    “Voltaire”
who lived from 1694 until 1778. He was a philosophical firebrand during
    “The Enlightenment”
.  Born François-Marie Arouet, he used his sharp wit to challenge authority and champion reason. His relationship with Frederick
    “The Great”
of Prussia was a fascinating dance. Initially, they admired each other's intellect, corresponding and exchanging ideas. Voltaire even spent time at Frederick's court. However, their egos clashed, and their friendship ultimately soured.

    “Palais des Tuileries”
served as the Parisian residence for French monarchs, from Henry IV to Napoleon III.
Tragically, the palace was destroyed by fire in 1871 during the Paris Commune, a period of civil unrest.

    The Note:
A circulated veteran, it has no edge or body tears, but it does have a good number of pinholes. It will be sent in a new large currency holder that protects it. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
